Footsteps runs ProTools HD version 8.

We will require a self-contained HD QuickTime video file for each reel of picture. We use a ADVC 110 Video Converter. Our Codec of choice is the DV/DVCPRO - NTSC Codec with a resolution of 720x486.

The Running Time Code should be large and located at the top of the screen.

Guide tracks can either be included within the QuickTime picture file or sent separately. Either way, please ensure the presence of a corresponding Two Pop (and Tail Pop if applicable).

Regarding delivery, anything over 500 MB should be delivered to Footsteps on DVD or on a Hard Drive. Smaller picture files can be sent via an ftp site/DigiDelivery/etc if necessary.

Footsteps requires a VIDEO ONLY EDL in any CMX format for each reel of picture. The Time Code in the EDL's should match the ProTools Session Time Code.

Footsteps uses the EDL's to generate wipes as part of the cueing system.

Please specify your ProTools session specs:

• Session Start Time
• Audio File Type (WAV, AIF, SDII)
• Sample rate (eg. 44.1 kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz, etc)
• Bit Depth (16, 24)
• Time Code Rate (23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.97 Drop, 30, 30 Drop FPS)
• Feet and Frame Rate (23. 976, 24, 25 FPS)
• Timecode 2 (23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.97 Drop, etc.)
• Audio Frame rate, drop/nondrop/pull up/down
• Video Frame Rate, drop/nondrop/pull up/down

A snapshot of your extended ProTools session setup window works like a charm!

If sending foley notes or cue sheets please send the notes when you send the picture and guide elements.

We would only require notes that include...special director's notes, floor surface notes, and notes that indicate what we DO NOT have to cover.

Preferably we would require the notes written as a text document including the In and Out Timecode or Footage of the specific effect to cover. Cued ProTools sessions can be sent or in a PDF format.

All completed Foley sessions are delivered as ProTools Sessions.

Completed Foley Sessions can be delivered via an ftp site or on CD or DVD. If using an ftp site please supply us with your ftp site information or speak to someone at Footsteps to make suitable arrangements.
